Since 2002, Seaforest has established its Corporate Philosophy. The Corporate Philosophy has four core elements: Being Healthy, Being Responsible, Being Agile, and Being Excellent. The four elements are inspired by two books, From Good to Excellent and Built to Last, which are recommended to read for its people. Seaforest has applied its Corporate Philosophy all along its growth. For example, Seaforest has established the Department of Health, which professionally provides health guidance for its people.
Since 2006, Seaforest has learned “knowledge worker” theory from Peter Druck. By using this theory, Seaforest has given its knowledge workers sufficient space for innovation, as well as self-management. Seaforest has made efforts help its people to live decent life, to build confidence and self-actualize. Seaforest has also learned two principles from Peter Druck: Creating market and creating customers. Drucker’s two books, The Effective Executive and Innovation and Entrepreneurship, have been recommended to its people to read.
Since 2009, Seaforest has learned the Lean Production System from Toyota. The Lean Production System has helped Seaforest build a strong manufacturing system. The application of the Lean Production System has been hard yet worthy. Seaforest has spent a lot of time and money to training its people to adapt to the Lean Production System. A supplier’s credibility comes from its integration of ability, accountability and reliability. By applying the Lean Production System, Seaforest has elevated its ability, accountability and reliability.
Seaforest has believed in the power of market from its founding time. As Adam Smith indicates that free competition is the essence of market economy. Free competition continuously brings new opportunities for entrepreneurial company. In his book, The Wealth of Nations, Adam Smith says that, “The quantity of every commodity which human industry can either purchase or produce, naturally regulates itself in every country according to the effectual demand, or according to the demand of those who are willing to pay the whole rent, labor and profits which must be paid in order to prepare and bring it to market.” (vol.1, p. 456) As one part of the whole supply chain, through observing the market demand, Seaforest has coordinated with its premium customers to try to supply right products in right quantity.
